Who we are

A centre of hope, rooted in KwaMakhelwane

Founded in the heart of Lindelani, Ntuzuma, KwaMakhelwane Center of Hope exists to uplift the communities of Inanda, Ntuzuma and KwaMashu. We stand with women and children facing gender-based violence, with learners who have lost their way, with the elderly who can no longer travel for medication, and with families who go to bed hungry.

Everything we do is guided by our constitution: dignity first, community always, and full compliance with South African human rights and constitutional standards.

  • Registered NPO — 305-066, entered 07 March 2024
  • Professional security support at all our activities
  • Health workers consulted and on call when needed
  • Progress tracked in a registered learner & beneficiary database

What we do

Programs that change lives

Six focused programs, one mission: a safer, fed, skilled and hopeful community.

GBV Protection & Healing

We run campaigns and awareness initiatives that protect women and children from gender-based violence, and provide psychological counselling to victims of GBV and bullying.

Women & Children
Youth working together at an outdoor camp

Youth Discipline Camps

Weekend and holiday camps that rebuild responsibility, teamwork and respect — with professional talks, group tasks, prayer sessions and karate for learners who bully.

Teacher leading a lesson in a South African classroom

Skills & Second Chances

Learners who battle to meet minimum pass requirements gain practical, income- earning skills: sewing, furniture making, upholstery, bricklaying, food gardening and entrepreneurship.

Learners
Caregiver assisting an elderly woman with her medication

Elderly Medication Support

We collect and deliver chronic medication for older people who can no longer make the trip themselves — because no elder should choose between health and transport.

Gogos & Mkhulus
Volunteers distributing food parcels in KwaZulu-Natal

Daily Food Relief

Cooked and uncooked food reaches the less privileged every day — from warm meals to food parcels that carry a family through the month.

Community Kitchen
Women harvesting vegetables from a community food garden

Food Gardens & Farming

Training and mentorship for community members to start and sustain food gardens and small-scale farms — feeding families today and seeding self-sufficiency for tomorrow.
